Jerry Botte started playing Guitar at the age of 11, growing up in the inner city he found roots in rhythm and blues, at the age of 15 he was backing up a Doo Wop Group called the “Del Cades” and they recorded “World’s Fair USA” for the 1964 New York World’s Fair, the flip side “It Takes Two To Fall In Love” they played many clubs and Rock shows.
He joined with his Brother Joe who played Sax and played private engagements, he also got involved with a singing duo and recorded weekly show on the WNYC Radio which aired every Saturday morning they and also performed in a Musical play for charity in Philharmonic Hall at Lincoln Center.
At age 18 he entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Germany where he joined a R&B Group called the “Creations” and played the Military Club circuit as a warm-up band for all major Soul R&B performers who headlined with the likes of “BB King, The Delfonics, OC Smith, Curtis Mayfield, The Dels, to name a few.
Upon re-entering civilian life in New York, Jerry became one of the most sought after player/singers in the club date field and played for all the major New York Society Orchestras.
Jerry’s talents took him one night appearances across the country as well as Cruises and places such as The Canadian Rockies, Hawaii and Bermuda for extended appearances. He’s entertained for Heisman Award Trophy, played the opening night parties for 3 Major Broadway Shows, Entertained the Society Circuit to include well known political figures and their families, as well as TV and Movie personalities.
Jerry has played with some of the top musicians in the Club Date and Jazz profession. He is now settling into doing his own thing and enjoys playing and singing Jazz standards as well as some classic rock and blues tunes with some of the great musicians he’s played with over the years.
